The kitchen garden is primarily used to grow fruits, vegetables and herbs. What the farmer does on a large scale in the field, the garden owners cultivate in a smaller form on their property. Fruit trees, which at some point just get too tall to duck all the fruit, are now grown in small molds that can be easily harvested in passing.
The typical plants in these gardens are, of course, vegetables in all varieties, fruit trees, berry bushes, lots of culinary herbs and of course beautiful flowers for the eyes and beneficial insects. The lawn should not require too much maintenance and can even have the character of a meadow.
Although today we can buy fruit and vegetables from all over the world cheaply in the store, growing them yourself is worthwhile again, especially under the aspect of organic cultivation.
